It's always a struggle for bikers throughout this country. We're seemingly always in an uphill battle, even once the doors have been cracked open. Our meetings with DOT/NYPD were shut down from June -August,  during the height of the motorcycle riding season as motorcyclists continue to die, which is the exact reason NYC DOT contacted and teamed up with A5BC in the first place. Why, you might ask? Because we refused to let an NYPD Captain speak to us with a dishonest tongue. Telling us the first NYC M.A.C. (Motorcycle Advisory Council); brought about largely through the efforts of Abate of NY 5boroughs Chapter,  to our faces that there are "NO MOTORCYCLE ONLY CHECKPOINTS" We reached deep into our resources contacting Mayor Eric Adams who met with A5BC in our August monthly meeting; setting the work that we have already accomplished back in place. Not only have the meetings resumed, we have met with the current Deputy DOT Commissioner and will meet with her quarterly to keep the Assistant Commissioner of Education on track. We're asking all NYC BIKERS to stand with Abate 5boroughs Chapter as we are "NYC BIKERS FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE"
